REVOLUTION CONCLUDES FIRST CREW EXAM, TWO CANDIDATES IN EARLY LEAD WITH 74 MARKS.

Today, In Cebtech Academy venue of The Revolution Company's maiden Crew examination, two candidates emerged the early leaders with a total of 74 marks in the multiple choice session of the examination.
Oni Damilola and Oladunni Olawumi were the leading candidates followed by Mbamara Onyinye with 70 points, those are the three A as at the Multiple choice scores recorded.
However the section 2 and 3 may counter the scores of the session one as it carries more percentage of the total score.
The examination was successful, free and fair
It was supervised by the group president Thommie Aderibigbe and An external invigilator, Miss Bolamide Aridunnu

Tomorrow we will test our present crew and additional crew and admit qualified candidates for a 6 weeks training [subject to additional weeks] by professionals and great materials in all aspects of Movie Production.

We have therefore make versatility a very unique feature of our Academy in which students will know about more than one field of filmmaking.

The departments are:

Cinematography, lighting and sound

Under this department, you will learn about how to handle camera shots, how to handle cameras, basic camera tutorials, drawing a cinematographic note on movie making

How to light a movie set, basic lighting tips and also sound and foley management

ARTS , SET DESIGN AND LOCATION

You will be taught about how to be artistic in movie making, how to get it done like professionals, designing set, constructing models, features of a good set, search and management of locations

COSTUME, MAKEUP AND PROPS

you will be taught tailoring, making costumes and designing costumes, make up and basic makeup skills, and how to manage movie properties

DISTRIBUTION, MARKETING AND PUBLICITY

You will be taught the business part of movie making, distribution processes, how to market movies and various publicity skills

SCREENPLAY, DIRECTING, PRODUCTION DESIGN, ACTING

Under this department, you will learn how to write screenplays from a script, basic directing tips, how to design a production and basic skills and knowledge of acting

 

You are advised to pick any of these 5 departments before coming for the exams and learn fundamental things about the department you pick

 

ON THE EXAMS

The question contains

1.      50 multiple choice questions from your material – [50 marks]

2.      A session one with questions about your chosen department – [60 mark]

3.      A session two on questions from your manual – [50 marks]

4.      A project topic  - [40 marks]

These amount to 200 marks but will be summed up to 100. The cut off mark for admission is 55.

1.      Please come with an HB pencil and a blue or black pen.

2.      You can also come with a slab to place your question paper and answer sheet

3.      All phones should be switched off during the examination

4.      And any form of cheating would disqualify the candidate

LET’S WORK TOGETHER

Years ago, we started the vision of changing the face of entertainment in the country, we came in a time when things were very wrong with Nigerian entertainment, we came at a time where mediocrity is at full play, we came at a time when Nollywood product was extraordinarily inferior to Hollywood products, we came at a time when ‘just anything’ was the norm.

Today we are over 5 years in training and learning to be the leading entertainment outfit in the black African soil. For over those years we have been trained in front of camera and by first class books, products from established movie makers across the globe like Mr Tyler Perry, Steven Spielberg and we have access to a whole lot of resource our Nollywood contemporary die to see.

We are a registered organization under the Corporate Affairs code of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 

After series of preparation and mini projects, we made a resolution to create a first class movie in 2015 but we cannot build a new type of house with Old bricklayers because our vision will clash. To build a house not seen before; you also need a team not seen before. We cannot put a new wine into a old wineskin.

For months we gathered all we had and hence the idea of Revolution Entertainment and Leadership Academy was created.

PROJECT REAL

Revolution Entertainment and Leadership Academy will admit the first set of students and stakeholders who would be certified in different departments of film making as professionals in their field. You are thinking professional, how is that possible in weeks or months?

Funmi is a young girl who decided to learn tailoring when she couldn’t get a job after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University. Funmi learnt for a very little time and she was a leading apprentice in the local tailoring shop in Agbowo Ibadan. Funmi buys magazine for 2,500naira each month for the purpose of seeing styles created by world most popular stylists and he downloads videos on YouTube to watch production process of great styles. Funmi knew down in her heart that she wanted to design like Adidas, Gorgio Armani, Calvin Klein etc and one day she got a chance to make a cloth for a woman who is a friend to the governor’s wife, who wore the cloth to visit the Governor’s wife, who liked it and also ordered for the same tailor to make her a cloth. The governor’s wife wore the cloth to a presidential banquet and the first lady of the federation loved the cloth and ordered the tailor to take over as her official tailor

Is Funmi not a professional tailor?

Professionalism is getting trained by the professionals directly or indirectly to be like them. A single opportunity will launch a prepared man into professionalism.

Like they say, there is nothing like a man who is prepared when opportunity comes. Today I want to announce to you, that Revolution is prepared to train you and also give you the opportunity.

In 2015, after your course and training, your final project will be the production of a cinema bound movie which would feature a mixture of Professional and popular stars and also new stars for the production of a romantic comedy movie. We are committed to making this happen because if as a team we get a movie to make huge statement in cinema then all department members in the production will be searched for all over Africa by producers who love the Revolution message. What is more professional than that? 

THE TRAINING

Training will be preceded by an entrance examination which only qualified candidates – from the grades and cutoff of the exams will be enrolled. Our course materials would then be given after we have reached an agreement on terms and condition. Our facilitators will teach once in a week or in two weeks and assignments and some notes will be given online which the assignment is part of your marks. You will be given projects and also taken to real locations in the course of your study to understudy and also learn from known filmmakers.

The end of the academic year will be the huge project which will launch you into professionalism in which your department and you will have your names sent to all award giving committee from Africa Movie Academy Awards (which we are a member) to the African Magic Viewers Choice Award to the BET awards among others.

Also test and exams will be given over time.

Wow… I love this ticket. After several designs and consultations, revolution agreed on this standard Ticket for the box office sales for production of Stuffs like love. Designed to suit international standard, the ticket is expected to go on sales before two weeks into production and we expect a sell out before production date, so that all our box office officials will do is to sleep and take some drinks, right? 300 tickets would be sold while 25 VIP tickets will be given out to revolution VIPs -   Director of Marketing/Publicity, Edna Ezekiel

WHAT DOES THE STAGE LOOK LIKE?

 

The stage is designed to suit the storyline in a realistic way to the audience. The stage which promises to be the first two storey stage with conventional room lighting and also stage lighting would host the 13 cast plus two guest musicians for the big show – Gospel musical comedy – the stage contract has been awarded out to professionals. With beautiful paintings, wallpaper, windows, and furniture materials, we know you won’t believe your eye. The stage is expected to be mounted at the Arts Theatre, University of Ibadan. The proposed venue of the production.
